The T3 UK excursion to London – Cambridge – Norwich was a great success. We are proud of our T3 pupils! New this year was an earlier start to our journey. Leaving at 9pm on Sunday evening we arrived early in London ensuring a full day in one of Europe’s most inspiring capital cities. Losing a night’s sleep didn’t alter the mood within the group which was lively but fun throughout the week. Our walk from the Victoria Embankment, where we parked the bus on arrival, to Kensington took us past Big Ben, Birdcage walk, Buckingham Palace, Kensington Gardens and Harrods.
Because of the extra full day, we were able to visit the science museum and have extra shopping time with Primark being the top attraction – at least amongst the ladies!
Another first this year was Norwich – football ground to the Canaries and the Graphic Arts university. Both well worth a visit and where we were very well received. This university is in stark contrast to Cambridge university which was founded in 1209 under royal patronage and concentrates on high academic achievement.
Further in Cambridge: a task-based treasure hunt, punting on the Cam, (more) shopping and a tour of the town. The weather played along too which is unique in England!
Our trip to Shakespeare’s Globe was great! A chance to see actors rehearsing on the open air stage and a workshop using the play The Tempest as a tool.
Last but not least: our bus driver. He kept spirits high when the journey threatened to be long and tedious. Though a little eccentric, he was certainly good fun! We look forward to another successful trip next year!
